Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment
Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) is a specialized form of ear acupuncture designed to help reduce or eliminate allergic reactions by regulating the immune system. It uses a small needle placed in the ear to help calm hypersensitivity to specific allergens and restore balance in the body. SAAT uses a specific protocol to identify the allergen and ear point for treatment. The needle is left in the ear for 3 or 4 weeks, helping the body retrain the immune system to stop overreacting to allergens. The length of treatment depends on the allergen being treated.
SAAT was developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, M.D., an anesthesiologist and auricular medicine practitioner. Dr. Soliman built upon the work of Dr. Paul Nogier, a French physician who developed auricular medicine in the 1950s and was the first to map the ear as a microsystem of the body. SAAT is a proven treatment to eliminate 80-95% of allergies and sensitivities to foods and environmental triggers.
Common allergens include food, environmental, and medication allergies such as wheat, gluten, milk, cheese, peanuts, mold, ragweed, animal dander, fragrances, and latex. (This is not an extensive list)
Uncommon allergens include Alpha-Gal Syndrome (although it is becoming more common), Aqugenic urticaria (water), and Solar Urticaria (sunlight). All can produce an itchy rash and hives.
Alpha-Gal Syndrome is rising and is often treated with SAAT. Alpha-Gal Syndrome is a tick-borne allergy to a sugar molecule found in most mammals, but not in humans. It can cause delayed reactions to red meat, dairy, and related products, ranging from digestive issues to severe allergic reactions.
SAAT can also be used to treat Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), which is often the case and should be treated before or alongside allergen treatment. New evidence indicates that autoimmune diseases are related to or caused by an allergy. Auto-immune conditions such as RA, SLE, and Sjogren’s Syndrome have responded favorably to SAAT.
