KST

Koren Specific Technique

What Is Koren Specific Technique?

Koren Specific Technique (KST) is a gentle, advanced chiropractic approach that follows a simple yet precise process known as Challenge, Check, and Correct. This method allows the chiropractor to locate and address areas of stress, interference, or imbalance that may be affecting how the body functions.

During a KST assessment, the chiropractor first applies a light challenge to a specific area of the body to observe how it responds. This helps determine whether movement or position creates stress within that region. Next, the body is checked using neurological feedback to confirm where the stress is present. Once identified, a targeted correction is performed to help release the interference. This process may be repeated as needed, guided by the body’s response.

How Does KST Enhance Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractors are extensively trained in human anatomy, with a strong focus on the spine, joints, and nervous system. KST serves as an additional technique that allows care to be even more specific and adaptable, helping the chiropractor address deeper or more complex stress patterns within the body.

In our practice, KST may be performed using an adjustable tool called an Arthrostim that allows assessment and correction in multiple positions, such as standing, sitting, or bending. Corrections are typically delivered using a gentle, electrically powered tapping instrument designed to be precise, comfortable, and effective.

Why This Approach Matters

The goal of KST is to improve communication within the body by identifying and releasing areas that are interfering with normal movement and nervous system function. Because KST is highly adaptable, it can be integrated into most chiropractic care plans.

KST is commonly used to support overall wellness and may be helpful for individuals experiencing conditions such as sciatica, headaches, stress, injuries, and discomfort affecting the back, neck, shoulders, or arms.
